Role and Experience

Technical leadership
• Advises ESS leadership, Service Owners, and client agencies on technical solutions and approaches
• Research, evaluate, document, and recommend technical solutions and approaches
• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction on critical activities to achieve business objectives
• Drive innovation and digital transformation initiatives by identifying and evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends
• Define current and future state of technology and applicable integrations
• Collaborate with peer architects, ESS Service Owners, vendors, and other technical professionals for environment setup, management, configuration, and development
• Analyze and solve complex technical problems involving multiple technologies
• Lead cross-functional teams to deliver complex, enterprise-wide solutions and architectural changes that align with business objectives
• Identify opportunities for system enhancements, process improvements, and cost savings through technology optimization

Strategic Planning and Alignment
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve business operations
• Develop and maintain technology and architectural roadmap and standards

Architecture Design and Oversight
• Lead system and architecture design efforts covering data, applications, technology, and integrations utilizing our technology stack, including:
• Cloud-based SaaS platforms (e.g., Salesforce)
• iPaaS platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Oracle OIC)
• Oracle Identity Cloud for Securing integration end points
• Legacy .NET applications
• various third-party tools and applications
• Oversee projects to ensure they follow approved architectural framework and standards
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve business operations

Solution Delivery and Implementation
• Support implementation of new technology solutions and modernization efforts
• Ensure technology solutions and system are implemented correctly and follow approved architectural framework and standards
• Review and ensure project technical and architectural documents are complete and meet standards
• Anticipate, understand, and communicate implications of technical decisions on business, applications, and project timelines
• Advise on options, risks, costs vs. benefits, and impact on business processes and system priorities

Business Relationship Management, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with ESS leadership, IT teams, state agencies, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into architectural solutions
• Challenge the status quo and drive innovation in both business processes and technology implementation
• Provide thought leadership and expert advice on technology trends, innovations, and system integration

Vendor Relationship Management
• Maintain relationships with technology vendors and suppliers
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, product roadmaps, and industry trends that impact ESS services
• Evaluate and recommend technology solutions
• Escalate issues and drive to resolution

Security and Compliance
• Identify and mitigate technology risks by ensuring compliance with security policies, regulations, and industry best practices
• Provide support for ongoing and recurring IT security audits of systems
• Define project specific security processes
