Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior DB2 Database Administrator (L3) with 10+ years of experience to design, implement, optimize, and maintain mission-critical IBM Db2 database environments. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, database architecture planning, automation, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and scalability of enterprise database systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Tier 3 support and advanced troubleshooting for complex Db2 database issues.
Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including HADR, Q Replication, and TSAMP.
Optimize Db2 database performance, including index tuning, buffer pool management, and SQL query optimization.
Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
Automate database administration tasks using Shell scripting, Python, or Ansible.
Manage security policies, including encryption, user access controls, and compliance with SOC, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
Support Db2 on multiple platforms, including Linux, AIX, and Windows environments.
Work with cloud-based Db2 deployments (AWS RDS for Db2, Azure, IBM Cloud Pak for Data) and hybrid cloud architectures.
Mentor L1 and L2 DBAs, providing technical guidance and training.
Collaborate with developers, application teams, and infrastructure engineers to optimize database integration and performance.

Requirements:

10+ years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
Expertise in IBM Db2 for LUW (Linux, UNIX, Windows) and Db2 z/OS.
Strong understanding of SQL tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with HADR, Q Replication, and high-availability clustering.
Proficiency in database automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, IBM Data Server Manager, etc.).
Experience in cloud-based Db2 solutions (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud Pak) is a plus.
Strong scripting skills in Shell, Python, or Perl for database automation and monitoring.
Familiarity with IBM Db2 BLU Acceleration, columnar storage, and in-memory processing.
Industry certifications such as IBM Certified Db2 Database Administrator or Advanced Database Administrator preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
