Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

Location: Downtown Houston, TX (Onsite 3 days a week: Tuesday - Thursday)

Job Type: Contract (through June or July with the possibility of extension in 6-month increments)

Overview: Our customer is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science with a generalist approach, proficient in Python and SQL, and experience in data engineering and transformation. This role offers the opportunity for long-term engagement, with the potential for multiple years of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement data science models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
• Perform data engineering tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Utilize Python and SQL to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data science solutions.
• Assist in deploying data science solutions into production with the support of the existing team.
• Continuously monitor and improve the performance of data science models.
• Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in data science and apply them to ongoing projects.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a generalist approach.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience in data engineering and transformation.
• Ability to work onsite in Downtown Houston 3 days a week (Tuesday - Thursday).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience in deploying data science solutions into production environments.
