PACS Modality Conversion Analyst - On-site Georgia
Job Summary:
Impulse is seeking a detail-oriented PACS Modality Conversion Analyst to manage and execute the conversion of various imaging modalities within our Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). The ideal candidate will have strong experience in medical imaging systems, data migration, and healthcare IT integration. The role requires expertise in converting data from existing systems to new PACS systems, ensuring smooth integration, maintaining data integrity, and collaborating with clinical, IT, and vendor teams to achieve a seamless transition.
Key Responsibilities:
Modality Conversion Planning:
Develop and execute detailed plans for converting imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound) into the new PACS system.
Collaborate with project managers, IT, and clinical teams to define the scope and objectives of modality conversion projects.
Coordinate with the vendor and IT teams to ensure compatibility of modalities with the new PACS system.
Data Migration and Integration:
Oversee the migration of historical image data from legacy systems (e.g., older PACS or RIS) into the new PACS, ensuring all modality images are properly integrated.
Ensure the proper integration of modality-specific data, such as DICOM tags, images, and metadata, and ensure compliance with DICOM and HL7 standards.
Verify that data migration processes retain the integrity, quality, and accessibility of medical images.
System Configuration and Testing:
Ensure that modalities are configured correctly within the new PACS environment, including the proper setup of imaging protocols, workflows, and DICOM configurations.
Test the converted data and images to ensure that all modality data is accurately converted and displayed within the PACS system.
Coordinate with clinical teams to validate data quality and verify the proper display of images post-conversion.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
Identify and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the modality conversion process, including data migration errors, system integration challenges, or display issues.
Work with technical support, PACS vendors, and clinical staff to resolve any discrepancies or problems in modality data.
Collaboration with Vendors and Technical Teams:
Work closely with PACS vendors, imaging modality vendors, and internal technical teams to ensure the timely and accurate conversion of modality data.
Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to understand the technical and clinical requirements for modality integration.
Provide feedback to vendors regarding issues encountered during conversion and support them in implementing solutions.
Documentation and Reporting:
Document conversion processes, configurations, and outcomes to ensure proper records for future reference and audits.
Create detailed reports on the progress of modality conversions, including timelines, challenges, and resolutions, for management and project stakeholders.
User Training and Support:
Assist in training radiologists, imaging technicians, and other clinical staff on the new PACS system, focusing on changes related to modality integration.
Provide post-implementation support to resolve any issues related to modality data or functionality within the PACS system.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure all conversions meet healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, DICOM, and other relevant standards.
Verify that all modality data is handled securely, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
