Our government client is looking for a Cloud Engineer on an onsite 12+ months renewable contract role in Chesterfield, VA.

About The Role
The CJIS Cloud Engineer serves in a Team Leader role ensuring seamless connectivity between interface partners and meeting infrastructure needs across multiple projects. As a team leader, their key responsibilities include:
• Single Point of Contact for Infrastructure Activities: act as the central resource for all infrastructure-related tasks, ensuring streamlined communication and accountability.
• Ownership and Accountability: Taking full responsibility for infrastructure-related tasks and ensuring their successful and timely execution.
• Infrastructure Connectivity Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for all infrastructure connectivity activities, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Project Coordination and Timeline Management: Collaborating with CJIS and PMO members to understand project timelines, proactively addressing potential delays, and meeting all deadlines.
• Coordination with Interface Partners: Engaging with partners to facilitate connectivity and ensure project requirements are met effectively.
• Network Connectivity Documentation & IP Management:
• Maintaining high-level network connectivity documentation.
• Establishing a centralized repository for IP and server details to streamline access and management.
• Assigning accountability for maintaining accurate and up-to-date infrastructure records.
• Firewall Rule Documentation: Preparing and managing firewall rule documents in collaboration with the agency and interface partners.
• Testing and Establishing Connectivity: Working with the agency and partners to test, validate, and implement secure connections within the required timelines.
• Ensuring Visibility and System Insights:
• Establishing monitoring tools to gain insights into system performance, dependencies, and infrastructure health.
• Leveraging these insights to proactively address issues and improve system design.
• Centralized Documentation Management: Developing and maintaining centralized documentation for infrastructure design, IP address management, and connectivity standards.
• Addressing Infrastructure Gaps: Managing critical areas like infrastructure alignment, IP management, and disaster recovery planning to ensure continuity and timely project completion.
• Team Member of Project CRIS: Contributing as a key team member in Project CRIS to address infrastructure requirements and connectivity needs. Required/Desired Experience:
• 5 years of cloud engineering experience Required
• 5 years of leading delivery of cloud services Required
• 3 years of experience with network infrastructure (IP management, FW, etc) Required
• 3 years of cloud infrastructure experience Required
• 2 years of system integration experience Required
• 5 years of self-starter with ability to perform complex tasks without minimal supervision Required
• 5 years of good communications skills, especially the ability to explain technical issue to a non-technical audience Required
