Location: Remote (Preference for West Coast, USA)

Hourly Rate: $75 - $100/hr on W2

Job Description:
The Data Engineer III will collaborate with data engineering teams to support studio analysts by providing coaching and hosting office hours. The role involves building scalable datasets and dashboard templates, working with content producers and data scientists on new world launch dashboards, and monitoring pipeline execution with data quality (DQ) alerting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support studio analysts through coaching and office hours.
• Develop scalable datasets and dashboard templates.
• Work with content producers, studio analysts, and data scientists on dashboard development and readouts for new world launches.
• Monitor pipeline execution and establish DQ alerting.
Business Context & Key Projects:
The program is at an inflection point, aiming to help external developers understand how their worlds are performing. The role focuses on building data solutions to support these objectives.
Must-Have Skills:
• Experience working with remote data analyst teams, production, and game designers.
• Ability to work with diverse data sources.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience in ETL, data modeling, and building dashboards.
• Proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Experience with Turbo Analytics.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of database standards and best practices.
• Effective communication and ability to work with cross-functional, cross-regional teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in Live Ops within the gaming industry.
• Consumer-facing product experience.
• Leadership experience in coordinating data engineering support across teams.
• Background in data governance.
Years of Experience:
• 5+ years in Data Engineering, preferably within the gaming industry.
• Experience in consumer product management and design changes.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
Candidate Disqualifiers:
• Limited expertise in only writing queries without broader data engineering skills.
Interview Process:
• Rounds: Two rounds of interviews
• Technical Discussion with Data Engineer
• General Discussion with Hiring Team
• Interview Mode: Zoom
• Interview Duration: 30 minutes per round
