Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support our financial services client in their Property and Casualty (P&C) division. The ideal candidate will have experience in Property and Casualty insurance, financial data analysis, and Guidewire. This role involves reviewing business requirements, validating test cases, and ensuring the accurate processing of financial events. The Business Analyst will work closely with various teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review Business Requirements: Analyze and review business requirements for processing financial events from Guidewire through FinPAL and ensure accurate data transmission to downstream consumers.
• Data Extraction and Analysis: Pull data using SQL into Excel files or from Kafka/JSON payloads for analysis.
• Test Case Validation: Review test scenarios against business requirements to validate test cases and ensure they meet the specified criteria.
• Automation: Automate test scenario validation using Python to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Error Identification: Validate test cases, identify errored events, and determine possible root causes in staging and standardization tables.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and compliance with business requirements.
Requirements:
• 3+ years of Property & Casualty Insurance Experience: In-depth knowledge of P&C insurance processes and terminology.
• 1+ year of Financial Data Experience: Experience in handling and analyzing financial data.
• 1+ year of Guidewire Experience: Proficiency in using Guidewire software for insurance operations.
Tools/Technologies:
• SQL: Proficient in extracting and manipulating data using SQL queries.
• Excel: Advanced skills in using Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Guidewire: Strong understanding of the PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter for gathering business requirements, testing, data analysis, and reporting.
• JSON: Knowledge of JSON for data interchange.
• Python: Ability to automate processes and validate test scenarios using Python.
