Role description

We’re supporting a well-established enterprise organization in their search for a Hybrid Java/Azure Developer to assist with the modernization and migration of legacy applications to the cloud. Candidates must be local to Pottstown, PA in order to be considered. This contract-to-hire position offers strong long-term potential as part of ongoing digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will split their time evenly between hands-on Java development and contributing to Azure cloud architecture and solutioning. Compensation is based on $60/hr., based on experience.

Responsibilities

   • Design and develop enterprise-grade applications using Java and the Spring framework.

   • Support on-prem to Azure migration and cloud modernization projects.

   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect secure, scalable, and cost-effective Azure solutions.

   • Utilize cloud-native tools such as Kubernetes/OpenShift, Kafka/Event Grid, and Azure DevOps.

   • Work closely with Azure Admins and Solution Architects on RBAC, permissions, and governance best practices.

   • Stay current with and evaluate new Azure services and capabilities.

Requirements

   • 3+ years of Java backend development experience.

   • 3+ years of experience with Azure cloud, including app development, migrations, and platform services.

   • Comfortable in a hybrid role (50% backend coding / 50% cloud architecture).

   • Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or OpenShift.

   • Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, Event Grid) preferred.

   • Basic proficiency in Python is a plus.

   • Azure certifications are a bonus (e.g., Solutions Architect Expert, Developer Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert, AI Engineer Associate).

   • Must be eligible to convert full-time without sponsorship.

   • Hybrid schedule with some onsite work required (details provided during the interview).
