Sr. Azure Data Engineer

OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures that support our data-driven decision-making processes. As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability and reliability of data across various platforms.
Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable data models and database architectures to support business needs.
Implement and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions that meet those needs.
Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.
Manage big data technologies to handle large volumes of structured and unstructured data efficiently.
Ensure data quality by implementing validation checks and monitoring processes.
Develop RESTful APIs for seamless integration of data services with applications.
Utilize cloud services such as AWS for deploying scalable data solutions.
Document processes, architectures, and workflows for future reference and compliance.

Skills

Proficiency in database design principles and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for processing large datasets.
Experience with linked data concepts and their application in real-world scenarios.
Strong programming skills in Java or similar languages for developing data processing applications.
Knowledge of VBA for automating tasks within Excel or other Microsoft applications is a plus.
Understanding of server management practices to ensure optimal performance of database systems.
Experience with building and maintaining data warehouses to support analytical reporting needs.
