Power BI Consultant

Robert Half Technology are assisting a global market leading financial services organisation to recruit a Power BI Consultant on an initial 6 month contract basis
Role

The Power BI Consultant will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and develop effective Power BI solutions.
Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualisations to meet business needs.
Create and manage data models, datasets, and efficient data flows to ensure seamless performance and scalability.
Integrate data from various sources (databases, APIs, cloud services) into Power BI using tools like Power Query, DAX, and M language.
Perform data cleansing, transformation, and optimisation for accurate and reliable reporting.
Implement security roles and manage permissions within Power BI to ensure data privacy and compliance.
Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimise Power BI dashboards and reports.

Profile

The Power BI Consultant will have proven experience with end-to-end Power BI implementation projects, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Strong proficiency in creating complex dashboards and visualisations with Power BI.
Expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M language).
Solid understanding of data modeling principles, including star and snowflake schemas.
Experience integrating Power BI with various data sources such as SQL databases, Azure, SharePoint, Excel, and APIs.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
Familiarity with Power BI administration, including workspace management, security, and governance.
