Key Responsibilities:
• Architecting, Designing, and Implementing Apigee Edge Platform: Provide subject matter expertise to guide the architecture, design, implementation, and operation of the Apigee Edge Platform.
• API Strategy and Lifecycle Management: Lead API strategy, development, operations, and lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and client requirements.
• Leadership and Guidance: Lead and mentor internal and customer teams, ensuring adherence to project standards, and guide the work of Technology Specialists on assigned projects.
• Customer Collaboration: Work closely with customers, cloud partners, and internal teams to design API solutions and implement cloud-based and on-premises architectures.
• API Security and Governance: Implement robust API security measures, including OAuth/SAML, Web SSO, SSL, and gateway security management.
• Operationalizing Apigee Gateways: Oversee the deployment and operationalization of Apigee gateways, including load balancing, failover configurations, and infrastructure component requirements.
• API Analytics and Performance Tuning: Drive API analytics, generate custom reports, integrate with external tools like Splunk, and perform performance tuning for optimal results.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed design specifications, task lists, and technical documentation, ensuring clear communication across teams.

Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Develop and Maintain Design Specifications: Create and maintain design specifications, technical task lists, and implementation plans for Apigee projects.
• API Testing and Performance Plans: Collaborate with customers to build and execute API functional and performance test plans.
• Enforce Best Practices: Ensure Apigee project standards and best practices are followed across internal and customer teams.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Offer day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to project teams, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery of API solutions.
• Monitor and Optimize API Performance: Analyze API logs, monitor API performance, and optimize performance through tuning and configuration changes.
• Collaborate on Infrastructure Requirements: Work with the customer’s operations team to implement infrastructure components necessary for successful API deployment and management.

Preferred Experience and Attributes:
• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• 5+ years in technology consulting, enterprise and solutions architecture, and architectural frameworks.
• 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Integration and Middleware Solutions.
• 5+ years of experience in API Strategy, Architecture, Development, Operations, and Life-Cycle Management.
• 5+ years in implementing API Security and Access Control (OAuth/SAML, Web SSO, SSL).
• 5+ years leading projects to design and implement APIs using Apigee Edge.
• Expert-level knowledge in API best practices and performance tuning.
• 3+ years managing on-premises deployments (OPDK) and working with Apigee Edge as a shared middleware platform.
• Strong experience with API Analytics, including custom reports and integration with external tools like Splunk.
• Expertise in Developer portal setup and customization.
• Knowledge of Apigee component architecture, configurations, and deployment methodologies.
• Experience in high availability, load balancing, and failover configurations for Apigee.
• Experience in gateway and security management.
• Ability to analyze Apigee logs to resolve issues and optimize API performance.
