Loop Consulting is hiring a Senior Data Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
This is a contract position (1099) with a duration of 12+ months.
This will be ON SITE in Orlando, FL.
4 days a week with Fridays as a remote day.
Work assignments may include:
• Data requirements gathering
• Source-to-target mapping
• Developing and maintaining ELT data pipelines
• Data quality monitoring
• Producing input datasets for science models and visualizations
• Batch/Orchestration job scheduling.
Role Responsibilities:
• Understanding the business domain and processes and applying that knowledge to the assigned deliverables.
• Communicating data engineering progress to the project leadership team and participating in meetings and discussions.
Required Skills:
• 5+ years of overall technical experience
• Experience with ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
• High Proficiency in SQL coding
• Expertise using Python, Docker, Snowflake and/or Postgres
• Ability to showcase an understanding of one or more business domains
• Experience gathering and refining data requirements and producing data design solutions
• Experience leveraging job scheduling software like Apache Airflow
• Experience with developing in a multi environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DevOps procedures for code deployment/promotion
• Strong understanding of database design and proficiency using various database platforms, such as PostgreSQL or Snowflake
• Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product such as GitLab/GitHub
Preferred Skills:
• Experience working with large datasets and modern data technologies, preferably cloud based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar.
• Proficiency with API development
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow
• Knowledgeable on cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
• Experience using containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
