OverviewPGT Solutions is a government prime contractor focused on the Healthcare IT segment and following a contracts-driven business model. We are in partnership with Amida Technology Solutions, and together we are providing Digital Health services to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Amida is a DC-based technology company focused on solutions for data interoperability, data utility, and data security. We create open-source solutions that collect, reconcile, transform, and standardize data for business intelligence, predictive analytics, decision support, and user transactions.
We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Washington, DC, hybrid, or remote. In this role you will work across our client engagements, providing expertise in data collection, data analysis, data mapping, data profiling, data mining, and data modeling. You will be responsible for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data and will address issues related to data completeness and quality, as well as contribute to and produce technical and data process documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Use expertise in data science and statistical methods and tools to extract insights from a diverse range of Veterans Administration data as part of a larger project team
· Collaborate with data engineers, data quality analysts, and visualization specialists to build data pipelines
· Review and synthesize research reports, technical documentation, and other sources to help frame analysis plans and aid in the interpretation of results
· Prepare and present the results of analyses in the form of visualizations and PowerPoint slides
· Leverage big data tools and frameworks (e.g., PySpark; SparkSQL) to access, process, and analyze large-scale datasets
· Interact with VA program staff to gather requirements and develop analysis plans
Required Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree (Master preferred) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related
· 4+ years of recent professional experience in data science, data mining, data analysis, business process analysis, and/or healthcare analytics
· 4+ years working with Machine Learning methodologies
· 4+ years of programming experience in a subset of Python
· 3+ years of programming experience in SQL
· Ability to conduct data profiling and predictive analysis using a variety of standard
· Excellent ability to communicate concisely and effectively with software engineers and clients
· Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance: Green Card or Citizenship Required.
Preferred Skills:
· Prior experience working with Healthcare data, or in the Healthcare field
· Experience with data visualization tools and methodologies
· Prior experience working with Healthcare data, or in the Healthcare field
· Experience with Cloud platform, such as Azure, and Azure Machine Learning
· Prior experience with SQL Stored Procedures, preferably with Oracle DB
· Experience with data visualization tools and methodologies
