Platform Engineer
Insight Global is looking for a sharp Software Platform Engineer to join a leading well drilling and oil and gas company in the Houston, TX area. In this role, the engineer will play a key role in developing the software that provides realtime data for the completion of digging.
To be successful in this role, it is imperative for this engineer to have strong C and Python experience, in addition to experience developing in an AWS cloud environment with data sources housed in SQL.
This is a contract-to-hire role with competitive compensation and benefits. We are seeking folks local to the Houston area, willing to work hybrid, and looking to grow with a team longterm.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain software applications for real-time drilling analytics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Implement robust and efficient code using C, Python, and SQL
• Utilize AWS cloud services to optimize application performance and scalability
• Integrate and manage data from WellView and WITSML systems
• Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality software delivery
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or similar discipline
• 3+ years of experience in C developmet
• 3+ years of Python scripting experience
• Strong AWS engineering experience
• Familiarity with WellView and WITSML systems
