Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Epic Azure Cloud Migration Specialist to lead and execute the migration of Epic applications and infrastructure to Microsoft Azure cloud. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both Epic systems and Azure cloud architecture, coupled with expertise in cloud migration strategies, security, and performance optimization. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, application developers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure a seamless migration and minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Cloud Migration Planning:
• Develop a comprehensive migration strategy for Epic applications and associated infrastructure to Azure cloud.
• Assess current on-premises Epic systems and define migration prerequisites, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Azure Infrastructure Design:
• Architect and configure Azure environments to meet Epic's performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Design and implement best practices for hybrid or full-cloud deployment models, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Migration Execution:
• Lead the end-to-end migration process, including data migration, application deployment, and system integration.
• Ensure downtime and business disruption are minimized during the migration process.
• Perform rigorous testing and validation post-migration to ensure system stability and functionality.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
• Work closely with Epic-certified administrators, developers, and healthcare teams to align migration goals.
• Communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and resolve technical challenges effectively.
• Optimization and Support:
• Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency post-migration.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Epic applications in the Azure environment.
• Implement disaster recovery and high-availability solutions tailored to healthcare systems.

Required Qualifications:
• Strong expertise in Epic application architecture, deployment, and support.
• Proven experience with Azure cloud technologies, including virtual machines, storage, networking, monitoring, and security.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and executing large-scale application migrations to the cloud.
• Solid understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory requirements for healthcare IT systems.
• Familiarity with automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for cloud deployments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Epic certification in one or more modules.
• Azure certification (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or containerized workloads.
• Understanding of healthcare workflows and operational requirements.

Any of Epic certification

Epic Certifications:
• Epic Client Systems Manager (ECSM): Focuses on the infrastructure requirements for Epic applications, including servers and virtual environments.
• Epic Cogito (Reporting and Analytics): Relevant if you are working on migrating analytics and data reporting to the cloud.
• Epic Cache DBA: Focused on database management for Epic’s systems, important for cloud migrations involving database hosting.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
