Title: Database Reliability Engineer / 35682273
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 2+ months
Pay rate: $80/hr - $88/hr on W2
Travel required: Yes onsite
Duties: 100% onsite role in San Jose

Work on reliability and performance aspects for core database infrastructures that allow clients products to scale.
Ensure the highest level of uptime and Quality of Service (QoS) for Client's critical database

environments through operational excellence.

Implement solutions for automating deployment, provisioning and managing large-scale database environments.
Improve observability by implementing smart monitoring, tracing, and logging.
Act as point of contact for production incidents, perform root cause analysis, identify,

and resolve underlying problem patterns, while working towards developing automated and self-healing solutions.
Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field

At least 7 years relevant production experience in supporting at scale, highly available,

mission-critical database environments. Deep understanding in all areas such as database backups, replication, security, DevOps for databases (IaC, CI/CD), observability, and disaster recovery.

Experience working with AWS cloud running

at scale database environments on virtual computing environments (Amazon EC2)

Proficiency in the following open-source database management systems:

MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, and PostgreSQL

Experience with Cloud database technologies such as AWS RDS, AWS Keyspaces
Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Terraform
Experience in performance monitoring, storage performance optimization, tuning database server configurations, queries, and indexes
Exposure to containerization platforms (Kubernetes/Docker)
Good understanding of Linux OS concepts
Proficiency in any of the scripting language (Python /Perl/ Ruby)
