Job Title: Data Integrity Engineer

Location: Hybrid (2-4 days / month or as needed in St. Paul, MN)

Job Type: Contract (Candidates must be willing and able to convert to full-time if the opportunity arises)

Job Summary
• The Data Integrity Engineer will blend the roles of a visualization developer, data engineer, and data analyst. This position involves creating visualizations, integrating metadata from various sources, and providing analysis to support data governance, self-service, and overall visibility into our information assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data visualization, engineering, analysis, and governance.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with data stewards, governance teams, and analytic engineers to design and implement data integrity best practices.
• Design and build PowerBI reports and engineer the necessary data for analysis.
• Expand metadata warehouse capabilities across company’s data sources and technologies.
• Develop automation processes to ensure data quality and effective metadata management.
• Support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data visualization, data engineering, data quality, or related roles.
• Proficiency in data analysis using PowerBI or similar visualization tools.
• Practical experience with SQL and API development, including data modeling and integration.
• Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of creating actionable plans even with unclear requirements.
• Able to clearly communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative and supportive mindset.
• Ability to work independently and implement feedback for continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Azure DevOps, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, Python, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Experience with data catalog tools such as Alation, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar.
• Background in corporate data quality or governance teams.
