Title: Senior Cloud Operations Engineer
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity based in Charlotte, NC.
Hybrid 3 days per week in Charlotte, NC.
Interview: Tuesday and Wednesday (Next Week)
Position Overview:
This position will be supporting and focused on unattended retail solutions for clients and consumers across the US. The role will be focused on cloud and platform engineering, automation, and modernization, along with the execution of our ongoing operational activities related to our existing cloud footprint.
What You'll Need to Have:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3+ years of experience in programming, automation, or similar role
• MUST have experience automating within AWS using CDK instead of Cloud Formation for this role.
• A solid base of infrastructure knowledge - prior experience working with servers and networks and general application architecture - knowing the diff between an app server vs a db server vs a web server.
• Some level of Scripting knowledge - this person will help with migration of everything as code
• Note: primarily powershell, some bash, and some python
• Some level of AI familiarity - experience using it to solve repeatable problems and no fear of it to solve problems faster.
• Experience working in an Agile SAFe 6 environment.
• Expertise in an AWS environment.
• Certifications - AWS Solution Architect or any AWS Certs would be highly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of core computing concepts (compute, networking, security, platforms, cloud)
• Extensive experience writing and understanding Python, PowerShell, and/or Bash scripting languages (preferably PowerShell)
• Extensive experience working with CI/CD pipelines (preferably Microsoft Azure DevOps)
• Experience with orchestration toolsets (preferably AWS Systems Manager)
• Experience writing YAML scripts for AWS Cloud Formations (desired, but not required)
• Experience with SQL, ISS, Tomcat, and other core services
• Experience working in a formal Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) environment
• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment
• Basic project management skills
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Committed and enthusiastic approach to supporting business customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
