Job Overview
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is in search of a Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team on a one-year hybrid contract basis. This critical role focuses on analyzing, mapping, building, testing, and maintaining data extraction, conversion, and migration processes from databases such as Oracle and DB2 to targeted databases like Data Warehouse and Data Lake, both in cloud and on-premises environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead data analysis, mapping, and transformation efforts for the migration of data to the Salesforce platform, specifically for the Child Welfare program.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and vendor stakeholders to capture and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design, implement, and optimize robust data pipelines and ETL processes that facilitate the extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into Salesforce.
• Support data archival strategies to manage data growth, perform data sub-setting for criteria-specific extraction, and execute data de-identification for application validation.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to uphold data quality, completeness, integrity, and availability throughout the process.
Required Skills
• A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on ETL processes.
• Proficiency in database systems, particularly Oracle and DB2.
• Demonstrated capability in designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience with data migration processes to Salesforce.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in data engineering roles, successfully executing data migration projects.
• Strong analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities.
