Salary/Rate: Up to £726 per day INSIDE IR35

Company Introduction

We now have an exciting opportunity with one of our sector-leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Senior Grid Engineer to join their team for a six-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

Design and build the Grid platform in line with strategic IT architecture

Manage and maintain the Grid platform

Optimize cloud engine performance on Azure and AWS for efficient workload execution

Monitor and optimize the deployment of workloads in cloud environments

Develop and maintain automation tools using Python and Powershell

Manage infrastructure expansions and compliance

Make cost efficiency recommendations

Collaborate with business, quant and other IT teams to deliver on projects

Provide third-line technical support for the technology platform

Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting and resolve production issues.

Collaborate with developers to investigate and fix grid-related issues impacting grid applications

Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, tools and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Ability to work in a fast paced high-pressure environment, where stability and reliability is critical

Experience with large scale Grid computing environments 100,000+ cores (DataSyanpse|Tibco GridServer / IBM Platform Symphony or similar)

Experience developing and supporting grid applications, using Grid APIs, Java/C#/C++

Experience with Azure and/or AWS and coding in Python and Powershell

Strong expertise in Tibco GridServer 7.X on Windows Server

Log Analytics (Elasticsearch/SQL/Kibana/Grafana)

Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS and Azure

Advanced Scripting skill using Python and Powershell for automation

Developer knowledge of Java/C#/C++ with experience in client driver API integration

Windows Server 2019/2022

Enterprise monitoring tools, Geneos

Desirable Skills/Experience

Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

Jenkins

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for distributed systems
