Job Description-
This position is responsible for using Tableau to design, develop, implement, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that provide valuable insights to the Maryland State Police organization and our stakeholders. A key aspect of this role will be working with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
Computer Systems Analyst (Junior):
Specific Work/Tasks
• Gather requirements for reporting.
• Follow the agency Center of Excellence procedures for projects.
• Develop and maintain data models consistent with agency requirements and needs.
• Develop and maintain data visualizations and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation of developed solutions and instructional procedures.
• Attendance at MSP ITD meetings (as required).
• Regular status reporting of assigned tasks to MSP supervisor.
• After-hours support (as required).
• Other duties as assigned.
Deliverables/Acceptance Criteria:
• Tableau data models, dashboards, and reports.
• Documentation of instructions and methodology.
Education:
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline or three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related field.
General Experience:
• Must have three (3) years of computer experience in technical assignments working under close supervision and direction.
Specialized Experience:
• At least one (1) year of experience creating SQL queries.
• At least one (1) year of experience with Tableau Desktop.
• At least one (1) year of experience using Tableau Server.
• At least one (1) year of experience using Tableau Prep.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of Python (programming language).
Primary place of performance is on-site at 1201 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208.
