Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating a variety of data sources, including Salesforce, JD Edwards (JDE), Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL databases, and OLTP systems, to the Databricks Lakehouse and Data Lake. This role focuses on the ingestion process into the bronze layer, utilizing Azure native functions to drive data to the gold reporting layer.

Key Responsibilities:

   • Migrate data from various sources to Databricks Lakehouse and Data Lake.

   • Implement Medallion architecture, focusing on the bronze layer ingestion.

   • Use Azure Data Factory and PySpark for data ingestion processes.

   • Collaborate with analytics teams and modelers for additional data refinement.

   • Integrate data from legacy systems using JDE and Mulesoft APIs.

   • Utilize Azure Functions for serverless compute in data ingestion.

   • Work as an individual contributor within a team of 8-9 engineers to enhance data ingestion velocity.

Requirements:

   • Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.

   • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, and Spark (Python preferred, Scala/Java acceptable).

   • Experience with OLTP systems, logical and physical data models, enterprise data warehouses, and Kimball/star schema.

Nice to Have:

   • Experience with JD Edwards and Salesforce.

   • Familiarity with Azure Functions.
