My direct client is looking for someone to join the Engineering team to lead the design, deployment, and optimization of advanced private cloud infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure).

This is a 6 – month contract + possible extension. The team is located in New York City metro area , and the role is 100% remote. Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

   • Deliver tailored private cloud infrastructure solutions to meet organizational needs.

   • Migrate legacy environments to private cloud platforms with smooth, low-downtime transitions.

   • Enhance infrastructure efficiency through automation (VMware vRealize Automation, PowerCLI, Ansible, SaltStack).

   • Develop and manage hybrid cloud environments integrating private and public clouds (AWS, Azure). Deploy and maintain advanced monitoring (VMware vRealize Operations, Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure high availability and SLA compliance.

   • Lead infrastructure projects, including data center network design and private cloud deployments (VMware, others).

   • Collaborate on CI/CD pipeline and DevOps implementation in private cloud environments.

Qualifications:

   • 5+ years of experience

   • Highly experienced in IT infrastructure architecture, specializing in private cloud technologies including VMware vSphere, NSX-T, vSAN, and SDDC.

   • Proficient in automation using VMware vRealize Automation, PowerCLI, Ansible, and SaltStack; Cisco

   • Skilled in Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Debian) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

   • Experienced with monitoring and operational tools such as VMware vRealize Operations, Prometheus, and Grafana.

   • Strong understanding of networking technologies, including CWDM/DWDM and data center network design.

   • Familiar with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Must have at least one active VMWare Certification:

   • VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization (VCP-NV) or

   • VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Network Virtualization Design (VCAP-NV Design)

   • VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) or

   • VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Data Center Virtualization Design (VCAP-DCV Design)

   • VMware Certified Specialist – Cloud Foundation

   • VMware Certified Specialist – vSAN

   • VMware Certified Professional – VMware vRealize Automation (VCP-VRA) or

   • VMware Certified Advanced Professional – VMware vRealize Automation Design (VCAP-VRA Design)
