RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Birmingham, AL that is seeking a SQL Server Developer for a contract role. This position will be hybrid 3 days a week in the following locations: Nashville, TN; Birmingham, AL; Charlotte, NC; Atlanta, GA or Denver, CO.
Summary:
We are looking for a SQL Server Developer with a Data Engineer mindset to join our Team, responsible for handling high-volume data within a new banking ecosystem powered by Temenos Transact. This role requires a strong foundation in SQL development, data pipelines, and software development best practices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SQL Server, data transformation, and SDLC, with a keen ability to analyze complex data requests and ensure accurate delivery. While SSIS experience is preferred, it is not required. Additionally, .NET/C# skills for unit testing will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and database components
• Extract and transform data from Temenos Transact into structured, high-quality datasets
• Work within established patterns to efficiently retrieve and process banking data
• Analyze vague data requirements and determine the best approach to extract and validate the correct information
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy by matching requested data with delivered outputs
• Follow SDLC best practices, utilizing GitHub for version control and collaboration
• Support SQL Server evolution by enhancing data pipeline efficiency
• Collaborate with a team of 6 engineers in a fast-paced environment
• Perform unit testing using .NET/C# to validate stored procedures and data transformations
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree
• 5+ years of experience
• Strong SQL development skills - writing queries, views, stored procedures, and constructing database components
• Experience with SQL Server (On-Prem) in high-volume data environments
• Understanding of SDLC processes, including version control with GitHub
• Ability to interpret complex data problems and design effective solutions
• Banking industry experience preferred, especially in deposit systems
Preferred:
• SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) experience
• .NET/C# experience
• Familiarity with Temenos Transact or similar banking ecosystems
• Experience working with large-scale data processing in enterprise environments
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
