

SQL Server DBA
Job Description:
The Database Administrator contributes to the success of the Information Technology team by designing, supporting, monitoring, testing and troubleshooting the clients database systems. The Database Administrator should demonstrate a proficient understanding of SQL server and should be capable of writing complex queries and easily troubleshoot performance issues. The position relies on a strong technical aptitude and sound judgment to accomplish goals. The function is expected to perform a variety of tasks concurrently.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Experienced working with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or later, including database installation, configuration, and management.
Maintain database systems including index and query optimization, encryption keys, AlwaysOn cluster health, and database backups.
Monitor database to identify hardware issues and/or queries or processes that may be impacting its performance and implement solutions.
Perform OS and SQL Server updates on servers.
Perform periodic data recovery tests to ensure backup viability.
Manage database object creation and mentor reporting and application developers to ensure the database environment stays performant and organized.
Maintain documentation on database contents for compliance and security reviews.
Configure and monitor data retention policies
Develop and maintain SSRS reports, Power BI dashboards and gateways.
Installation and migration of database servers, analysis services, reporting services, and other database components.
Experience working with SQL Server Analysis Services to create comprehensive and secure data models.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with ETL processes in support with File Processing Controllers.
Other responsibilities or duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
Comply with all established policies (General, Security of Information, Compliance) and Standards of conduct established by client.
Education / Experience / Credentials
Required some technical school
Preferred technical school diploma, MCSE
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mid-size technology diverse, multi-tasking environment. Most recent experience should include one year in a role where the primary responsibility is database administration.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
