Role description

Splunk Engineer | Contract | 4 months+ | Circa £600p/d Inside IR35 | Remote | SC Cleared:

The role:

Reviva are working with a growing Cyber Security Consultancy who are looking for a Splunk Engineer to join on an initial 4 month contract, likely to last until November/ December time. The right candidate can be based anywhere in the UK and must have SC Clearance.

Key Information:

   • Day rate: Inside IR35 - £550p/d - £650p/d

   • Location: Remote

   • Duration: Initial 4 months, with sign off in progress to last 7 months+

   • Active SC Clearance required

Responsibilities:

   • Develop a design for the standard security-focused Splunk subscription within the PSP tenancy (collaboration with Security Architects and Secure by Design leads for support from CISD)

   • Create and manage the engineering delivery plan.

   • Incorporate firewall rules directly into the design.

   • The final design should be created in Draw.io or Visio, with a PDF version available for review and approval by the SoC Lead and the Change Advisory Board (CAB).

   • Build and implement the subscription according to the agreed-upon deliverables and timeline.

   • Support the migration from the existing system to the new subscription environment.

   • Ensure all design documentation (High-Level Designs and Low-Level Designs) are properly recorded and stored in the DfE SoC SharePoint.

   • Facilitate a complete and tested handover to the DevOps team.

Requirements:

   • 2+ years experience of Splunk Engineering experience (ideally in Azure) including design, implementation and testing.

   • Migration experience of Splunk instances.

   • Knowledge to be able to support migration project planning activities.

   • Active SC Clearance until December 2025 or later.
