Senior ETL Developer

Description:

The Client Investment Decision Support (IDS) team are the primary data stewards for the Investments Department. IDS connects data to investment analysis by overseeing all aspects of the data management life cycle. They work closely with investment programs to understand their business data and decision support requirements, develop tools to extract valuable and timely information, and continuously improve processes and systems to ensure high levels of data integrity and availability. The IDS team is seeking seasoned SQL development expertise to successfully assist with ongoing business initiatives.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with overall ETL Support (development, production support, documentation) and other development efforts as needed. Activities may include:
• ETL Production Support – Monitor and maintain existing ETL processes.
• Code Data Movement - Provide support in the design, development, and implementation of ETL packages with SSIS.
• Development - SQL Development support to include creation of stored procedures, views, etc.
• Performance Tuning - Review existing SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Partitions, and Index(s) to determine performance enhancements for long running queries.
• Data Manipulation - Provide alternative options to existing data manipulation techniques. Examples would be converting Excel manipulation activities into SSIS packages that reduce process/cycle time of data preparation

Required/Desired Skills:
• 7+ years of experience in ETL SQL development Required 7 Years
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services Required 7 Years
• Experience writing technical documentation (requirements, process maps, etc.) Required 7 Years
• Excellent communicator and be able to produce clear and concise documentation Required 7 Years
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment Required 7 Years
• Demonstrated experience working independently with only high-level guidance Required 7 Years
• Experience with data governance best practices/procedures Highly desired 5 Years
• Investment/financial market industry experience Highly desired
