Senior Snowflake Developer
Location: 2/3 days onsite in either San Francisco or San Ramon
Rate: $80 - $100 per hour
Contract: Initial 6 months
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Snowflake Developer to join our clients data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and optimizing data solutions using Snowflake, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and security. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Snowflake data warehouse, ensuring high availability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and optimize data models and ETL processes within Snowflake.
• Write efficient SQL queries and scripts using SnowSQL to manage and manipulate data.
• Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies to ensure data security and compliance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance and scalability issues, making recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Conduct query optimization to enhance performance and reduce costs.
• Stay up-to-date with Snowflake features and best practices, and recommend enhancements to existing systems.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers on Snowflake best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with a focus on Snowflake.
• Proficiency in SnowSQL for querying and managing Snowflake environments.
• In-depth understanding of RBAC policies and data governance in Snowflake.
• Strong experience in performance tuning and optimization of Snowflake queries and processes.
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of cloud data warehousing concepts and architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with additional data processing tools and technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka, AWS Glue).
• Certifications related to Snowflake or cloud data engineering.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or Java for data integration tasks.
