We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Analyst and Tableau Developer with expertise in Tableau Desktop, Alteryx, and Tableau Server administration for a long-term contract position worked in Austin, TX,

Please note: this is a fully onsite position. Candidates must be located in the Austin Metropolitan area.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Executive Office staff and the IT team to enhance the agency's Data Quality Management program by supporting the creation and maintenance of interactive scorecards, dashboards, and visualizations.

This role will focus on leveraging Tableau and Alteryx to optimize workflows, improve reporting, and ensure high-quality data governance. As a key member of our analytics team, you will work to improve the agency’s proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Server administration, while ensuring best practices in governance, data collection, analysis, and the creation of polished visualizations.

Key Responsibilities:

   • Collaborate with the Executive Office staff and IT team to review, develop, and maintain Tableau sites, projects, and dashboards.

   • Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing dashboards in Tableau Server using a variety of data sources, calculations, and parameters.

   • Build Alteryx workflows to create and streamline data sources for Tableau visualizations.

   • Support the integration of Tableau with various data sources, including SharePoint, MS SQL, Oracle, and Alteryx.

   • Guide and support Tableau Desktop developers and Tableau Server analysts by providing best practices, governance, and standards.

   • Troubleshoot and provide support for issues/questions related to Tableau and Alteryx.

   • Assist in upgrading Tableau Desktop across the enterprise, ensuring a smooth transition to new versions.

   • Document and ensure adherence to data governance standards, best practices, and workflows for Tableau and Alteryx.

Required Qualifications:

   • 10+ years of experience mining and interpreting data using SQL (SQL Server and Oracle).

   • 10+ years of experience designing and creating relevant, insightful visualizations from complex data.

   • 10+ years of demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis, analytical thinking, and writing.

   • 5+ years of experience in an analytics or data-focused role.

   • 5+ years of advanced experience developing and supporting Tableau Desktop.

   • 5+ years of experience soliciting, documenting, and communicating user requirements.

   • 3+ years of hands-on experience using Alteryx and Python for data analysis and workflow development.

   • 3+ years of experience with documentation of standards, best practices, and governance for Tableau, Alteryx, and related platforms.

   • 3+ years of experience in a data warehouse environment, including ETL development, monitoring, and optimization.

   • 3+ years of experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications:

   • 3+ years of hands-on experience with data from PeopleSoft HRMS or PeopleSoft Financials.

   • 3+ years of experience working with HIPAA data and ensuring compliance in analytics work.
