

Risk Quant Developer
This role is a rolling 6 month contract for 3 days in the office, primarily in Jersey City with occasional time in the Midtown offices.
We are looking for a seasoned Quantitative Risk Developer to join our Quant Risk Development team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with other risk analytics teams, including Market Risk, Credit Risk, and RegIM, to develop tools to automate workflows for supporting regulatory submissions and other risk management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python programming with DevOps, financial risk analytics, and backend development.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal risk teams to design and implement Python-based tools and libraries that automate risk analytics processes and regulatory submissions.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend Python libraries to support various risk analytics applications.
• Support the implementation and optimization of financial risk models across multiple asset classes, including equity, fixed income, and credit risk.
• Facilitate efficient data processing, integration, and reporting pipelines to streamline regulatory submissions and internal analytics.
• Partner with end-users to gather requirements and deliver solutions tailored to complex risk analytics workflows.
• Contribute to a robust CI/CD environment and ensure code quality through testing, peer review and version control.
• Stay updated with industry standards and best practices for financial risk analytics and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in Python programming with a focus on backend development for financial applications.
• Proficiency in financial risk analytics and knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including SIMM, is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of risk modeling and portfolio analytics across various asset classes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop scalable, reusable Python libraries.
• Hands-on experience working in a DevOps environment with a focus on CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with graphical user interface (GUI) development in Python is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial derivatives, portfolio optimization, and risk management practices.
• Ability to handle large datasets and implement efficient processing algorithms.
