Job Description: Data Analyst – Diagnostics and Planning (Children Services)
Role Overview:
The Data Analyst – Diagnostics and Planning will play a critical role in leveraging data-driven insights to support children’s services programs. This position involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data to improve service delivery, assess program effectiveness, and enhance child welfare outcomes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnostics, predictive analytics, and strategic planning, with a strong ability to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Diagnostics

Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to child welfare, education, health, and social services.
Conduct root cause analysis and diagnostic assessments to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.
Develop statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to support early intervention strategies.
Utilize data mining techniques to uncover insights that optimize program performance and resource allocation.

Strategic Planning & Forecasting

Perform demand forecasting and scenario modeling to support long-term planning for children’s services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including social workers, policymakers, and community organizations, to design data-driven strategies.
Support financial and operational planning through predictive analytics and impact assessments.
Develop Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards to track service effectiveness and outcomes.

Data Visualization & Reporting

Present findings through clear, compelling reports and interactive dashboards.
Use tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel to visualize data trends and program impact.
Communicate complex data insights to policymakers, nonprofit organizations, and service providers to drive informed decision-making.

Technology & Tools

Utilize SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Work with child welfare databases, case management systems, and business intelligence platforms.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security, adhering to compliance and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).

Stakeholder Collaboration

Partner with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and research institutions to enhance data-sharing and collaboration.
Provide recommendations on best practices for data governance and data-driven decision-making.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and child protection measures.
