PowerBuilder Developer
Rate: 50-55/hr on w-2 (No C2C or 3rd party candidates will be accepted)
Location Lansing, MI 2 Days a week hybrid
We are seeking an experienced PowerBuilder Developer and IT Analyst with expertise in PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher) and advanced T-SQL query writing skills for Sybase and MS SQL Server databases. This role involves a mix of responsibilities, including data management, source control, unit testing, documentation, software development, and production support. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, hybrid work environment and demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and adapting.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Some college coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven expertise in PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher).
• A willingness to learn and grow within the role.
• Ability to work in a hybrid office environment.
Required Skills:
The candidate must have strong technical expertise and experience in the following areas:
• PowerBuilder Development: Hands-on experience modifying PowerBuilder source code, including documenting application steps related to data processes (5+ years).
• T-SQL Query Writing: Advanced skills in writing complex queries for Sybase and MS SQL Server databases, including developing processes for data migration and cleansing (10+ years).
• Data Management: Extensive experience with data profiling, mapping, manipulation, validation, and analysis (10+ years).
• Source Control: Proficient in source control tools such as TFS/Azure DevOps or GIT (5+ years).
• Unit Testing: Demonstrated ability to document and perform comprehensive unit testing for program changes (10+ years).
• Documentation: Skilled in creating, updating, and maintaining detailed program documentation, system specifications, and flow diagrams (10+ years).
• Testing: Adept at collaborating with clients and Business Analysts to support test scenarios (5+ years).
• Production Support: Ability to analyze and resolve issues, providing detailed root cause analysis (5+ years).
• Change Management: Familiar with change management procedures and contributing to their execution (5+ years).
