Who We Are Looking For

A skilled PowerBuilder Developer. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in PowerBuilder development, T-SQL query writing, and working with Sybase and MS SQL Server databases. The role demands proficiency in data management, source control technologies, documentation, unit testing, and providing ongoing support for production systems. The successful candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment, be able to work onsite in Lansing twice a week, and contribute to software development and data integrity tasks.

Responsibilities

PowerBuilder Development: Research and modify PowerBuilder source code (version 7 or higher) to document and improve application data processes.

T-SQL Query Writing: Write and optimize complex SQL queries for extracting and manipulating data from Sybase and MS SQL Server databases, supporting data migration and cleansing efforts.

Data Management: Perform data profiling, mapping, validation, and analysis to ensure data integrity and quality.

Source Control: Utilize version control tools like TFS, Azure DevOps, or Git to manage code and collaborate with team members on changes.

Unit Testing: Document and execute unit tests to support program changes and ensure system functionality.

Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications and process flow diagrams, to support software development.

Testing Support: Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to design and execute test scenarios, ensuring software meets requirements.

Production Support: Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot production issues, providing root cause analysis and documenting findings.

Change Management: Contribute to change management processes, following established procedures for software updates and fixes.

Qualifications

PowerBuilder Development (version 7 or higher): 5+ years.

T-SQL Query Writing for Sybase and MS SQL Server: 10+ years.

Data Management: 10+ years of experience in data profiling, validation, mapping, and analysis.

Source Control: 5+ years working with tools like TFS, Azure DevOps, or Git.

Unit Testing: 10+ years of experience documenting and performing unit testing.

Documentation: 10+ years creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Testing: 5+ years of experience collaborating with business analysts to support test scenarios.

Production Support: 5+ years of experience in identifying, analyzing, and resolving production issues.

Change Management: 5+ years following change management processes.

Education: Some college coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
