Power BI Engineer - Newark, NJ (Hybrid) - Only W2
Position: Power BI Engineer
Location: Newark NJ 2x/week
We are accepting candidates who are open to going onsite for a final interview
Interview process: 2 rounds, 1st virtual, final in-person
Must Haves:
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in BI Platform administration such as Power BI and Tableau
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI/Tableau report development
• Fluent with SQL for data analysis
• Experience with both server and desktop-based data visualization tools
• Expertise with multiple database platforms including relational databases (ie. SQL Server) as well as cloud-based data warehouses such as Azure
• Working experience in a Windows-based environment
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL procedures, and BI technologies
Plusses:
• Experience with Python and REST APIs
• Exposure to deploying code through a pipeline
• Direct experience supporting multiple business units for foundational data work and a sound understanding of capital markets within Fixed Income
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, SAFe development methodology & DevOps
• Proven ability to work quickly in a dynamic environment.
D2D: Build and maintain new and existing applications in preparation for a large-scale architectural migration within an Agile function. Align with the Product Owner and Scrum Master in assessing business needs and transforming them into scalable applications. Build and maintain code to manage data received from heterogenous data formats including web-based sources, internal/external databases, flat files, and heterogenous data formats (binary, ASCII). Help build a new enterprise Datawarehouse and maintain the existing one. Design and support effective storage and retrieval of very large internal and external data sets and be forward thinking about the convergence strategy with our AWS cloud migration Assess the impact of scaling up and scaling out and ensure sustained data management and data delivery performance. Build interfaces for supporting evolving and new applications and accommodating new data sources and types of data.
