Power BI Developer
• Not open to C2C or third party candidates
• Hybrid schedule - 3 days on site
This role serves as a data architect, designing and building data models that allow for effective data analysis and reporting. Designing and building BI reports and dashboards entails understanding business needs, creating a data model, and creating visualizations that give actionable information. The candidate will oversee knowledge transfer, end user training, keeping data sets clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.
Job Duties And Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced understanding of Power BI and current features, including data architecture, data modeling, DAX calculations, visualizations, report design and gateway optimization techniques
• A solid understanding of data analysis and visualization principles
• Ability to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources (databases, APIs, flat files, cloud storage platforms like S3, Azure Blob/Data lake and Snowflake)
• Develop comprehensive reports that is visually appealing and interactive with filtering and drill-down capabilities to provide detailed analysis based on user needs.
• Implement data security measures within Power BI to control access to sensitive information and ensure data integrity.
• Provide training and support to end users on how to navigate and utilize Power BI dashboards and reports effectively.
• Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and design principles
• Understanding of SQL, DAX, and familiarity of other data languages like Python for data manipulation and automation
• Excellent problem-solving ability in order to address data-related issues and keep the Power BI infrastructure up to current and working properly
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud-based data platforms
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
• Ability to work professionally and collegially within a fast-paced culture that emphasizes excellence and teamwork
• Create and maintain documentation
• Energy industry experience a plus
• Performs other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
• Hybrid work schedule: a combination of working remotely from home and 3 days a week in the office
Education and Minimum Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related discipline/experience
• Five (5)+ years hands on experience using PowerBI
