Power BI/SQL Developer

Hybrid 2 days onsite per week (Tues and Wed/ each week required - NO Exceptions!)

Assist withoverall Power BI/SQL Support (development, performance, process, documentation)related to the Data Quality Enhancement initiative and other development efforts as needed. Activitiesinclude:

· Maintain the confidentiality of all business data and adhere to VRS datasecurity policies.

· Meet all deliverables withing the agreed upon timeframe.

· Provide regular status updates and attend various meetings as required.

· Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards based onbusiness requirements.

· Create interactive visualizations, reports, dashboards that assist witheffective monitoring of Critical Data Elements.

· Advise on best practices in data visualization and report optimization.

· Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needsand translate into actionable reports.

· Develop, optimize and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures fordata retrieval and manipulation.

· Develop DAX queries to enhance the performance and functionality ofreports.

· Develop reports to support KPIs and other performance indicators.

· Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and SQL tools.

· Review existing SQL Queries, Execution Plans, Partitions, and Index(s)to determine performance enhancements for long running queries.

· Provide alternative options to existing data manipulation techniques.Examples would be converting Excel manipulation activities into solutions thatreduce process/cycle time of data preparation.

· Specialprojects at the direction of the Chief Operating Officer or Data Officer.

Required Skills and Experience:

· Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in developing reports, dashboards, and datavisualizations using Power BI.

· Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server SQL development,including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

· Experience in writing complex DAX queries.

· Experience with MS SQL Server data modelling and schema design.

· Experience working in an Agile development environment.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team that includesbusiness and technical stakeholders.

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:

· Experience in Pensions Benefit Management programs.

· Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).

· Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.

· Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).

· Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent.

· Other relevant certifications in SQL, Data Analysis and databasemanagement.
