We’re looking for a Database Engineer to join our Platform as a Service – Data Platform Unit, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our database infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Oracle & SQL Server in a high-availability, mission-critical setting, while also contributing to process innovation and automation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

✅ Providing expert database administration and support across Oracle & SQL Server

✅ Managing the full database lifecycle – provisioning, patching, upgrading, and migrations

✅ Ensuring high availability & disaster recovery using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM & SQL Server Always On

✅ Monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting production issues to ensure optimal performance

✅ Performance tuning and optimisation to enhance efficiency

✅ Driving process automation and continuous improvement within the team

✅ Collaborating with internal teams and escalating complex issues as required

What You’ll Bring:

🔹Proven experience in database administration (Oracle & SQL Server) in a Production environment

🔹 Strong troubleshooting skills with an analytical mindset

🔹 Experience with database builds, patching, migrations, and upgrades

🔹 Hands-on expertise in high availability & disaster recovery solutions

🔹Performance tuning & optimisation skills

🔹 Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager

🔹 Exposure to Linux (Red Hat), Windows, AIX & Solaris operating systems

🔹 Strong collaboration & communication skills

🔹 Understanding of ITIL Service Management processes (Incident, Change & Problem Management)

Nice to Have (but not essential):

✨ Experience working with cloud-based databases (Oracle OCI, Exadata Cloud @ Customer, Azure)

✨ Transparent Data Encryption (TDE)

✨ Knowledge of SQL Replication & Flashback technologies

✨ Experience using Dynatrace for monitoring

✨ Familiarity with Windows Failover Clustering & Dell Data Domain Boost

✨ Exposure to other database technologies beyond Oracle & SQL Server
