Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid – 4 days remote, 1 day onsite on Wednesdays)

Duration: Long term

Oracle database performance in AWS and Exadata environments, with an emphasis on troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for performance issues. The position requires deep expertise in Oracle performance tuning, AWR, ASH, ADDM reports, and working with large databases (50+ TB), particularly within AWS and Exadata environments. Candidates should have extensive experience with performance optimization, SQL query analysis, and Linux shell scripting. Strong technical writing, presentation skills, and the ability to work with multiple teams are also essential.

Required Qualifications:

8+ years of experience with Oracle performance tuning, especially in AWS (50+ TB)

8 Yrs Experience in Analyzing and evaluating application performance across multiple tiers

8 Yrs Experience with identification and solution implementation for performance and scalability bottlenecks and issues

8 yrs Experience with Oracle wait interface and event analysis

8 yrs Experience with Performance tuning of large Oracle databases in AWS (50+ TB)

8 yrs Experience with large Oracle Exadata databases and clusters

8 yrs Experience with Single node non-Exadata Database tuning

8 yrs Experience with Linux shell scripting, SQL tuning and session tracing.

8 yrs Experience with AWR, ASH, ADDM generation and analysis

8 yrs Experience with Oracle AWR Raw data analysis and interpretation.

8 yrs Experience Extrapolating system behavior under representative load to predict system behavior under full load/stress.

8 yrs Experience with Presenting complex results, analysis, and metrics to a diverse audience of technical and non-technical personnel.

8 yrs Experience with Troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and issues.

8 yrs Knowledge of Oracle internals pertaining to database performance

8 yrs Experience with understanding of application behavior, performance, and interaction patterns with DBs in relation to performance and scalability.

Preferred:

Agile experience and familiarity with JIRA

Healthcare/HHS agency background

Experience with PII, PHI, and HL7 data
