

Lead Data Engineer (contract)
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our Data Platforms team supporting T-Mobile USA. This role will focus on designing and developing scalable ETL pipelines and implementing efficient data ingestion and transformation strategies. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with modern data engineering tools such as Python, Apache Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, data-driven solutions.
Location Options: Frisco, TX / Atlanta, GA / Overland Park, KS
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from diverse sources.
• Build scalable data integration solutions using Python, Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Optimize Spark jobs and SQL queries for performance, scalability, and minimal latency.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards across all workflows.
• Automate data pipeline deployments via CI/CD frameworks and implement monitoring for continuous delivery.
• Troubleshoot data integrity issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Document pipeline architecture, transformation logic, and operational procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of data modeling principles and best practices for scalable architecture.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations, encryption, and secure access management.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $48.54/hour - $75.85/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
