

IT Business Analyst (Data Governance and Discovery) Only W2
Role: IT Business Analyst (Data Governance and Discovery) only W2
Location: Chicago, IL (hybrid, 3 days a week)
Duration: 6 months (potential for extension)
Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Analyst to join our Team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data governance including data discovery , with strong capabilities in requirements gathering, requirements analysis, and a solid grasp of Agile methodologies. This role is not in IT, but requires many of the same skillsets as an Analyst in IT.
Contractor's Role:
This role demands exceptional problem-solving skills and proficiency in documentation to effectively capture and develop project details from initial requests.
Experience Level: Mid
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within financial services
• Must be comfortable asking questions and breaking down work into constituent parts with other teams.
• Excellent SQL for use in data discovery in order to not have dependence on IT
• Proficient in Azure DevOps and Confluence and reporting in that skill
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to apply them in project management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to high quality and accuracy.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Prioritize finance and regulatory data requirements as first pass on:
• Work with Finance Data Quality Forum for prioritization of issues to investigate
• Define ownership from business process / business capability perspective, using latest business capability mapping
• Work with owners to have data stewards by process.
• Investigate data related issues with Operational staff uncovering process / control issues
• Make recommendations on process changes / controls
• Ensure fixes are owned and implemented on an ongoing basis
• CDEs will be documented as part of the process
• Ensure that work is prioritized by the issue log in Finance from processes. You will investigate issues to find out if it is a technical issue (including transformations not owned by the business) and/or process related.
• Collaborate closely with Data Product Team based in London and India
