Location: Troy, MI (2-3 days onsite Required)
Type : Contract - Duration: 12 plus months
Who are we looking for?
A Senior Database SME having 10-12+ years of experience working as database technical SPOC for BAU operations. He/She should have handled and have strong experience in managing large/complex database systems for a enterprise client.
Technical Skills:

10-12 years of experience in database administration, overseeing the performance, security, and scalability of large, complex database systems.
Expertise in managing and optimizing various databases such as MS-SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.
Extensive experience in troubleshooting, resolving, and preventing complex database performance, security, and operational issues.
Strong knowledge in architecting, implementing, and managing robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Expertise in advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and database resource management for large-scale systems.
In-depth experience in applying patches, updates, and configuration changes, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining database stability.
Strong command of database security practices, including encryption, auditing, user access control, and regulatory compliance.
Proven ability to manage and optimize database capacity planning, ensuring high performance and cost efficiency.
Extensive experience in implementing and managing high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions for critical systems.
Leads and oversees database migrations, upgrades, and consolidations, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal impact on business operations.
Proactively monitors and analyzes database logs, identifying issues, trends, and opportunities for optimization.
Develops and implements automation processes for routine database maintenance and operational tasks.
Provides leadership and expert guidance in troubleshooting complex database issues, guiding junior and senior team members.
Ensures alignment with industry best practices, compliance standards, and organizational database management policies.
Leads database audits and ensures adherence to data protection and regulatory compliance requirements.
Mentors and trains database engineers, sharing expert knowledge and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Process Skills:

Strong knowledge on ITIL and worked on incident/change/problem on regular basis.
Strong database skills in assisting juniors in troubleshooting the DB related issues.
Expert knowledge on Critical incident management and SLA management.

Behavioral Skills:

Effective interpersonal, team building and communication skills
Able to thrive in rapid environment and adopt new technology Fastly.

Qualification:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems and /or equivalent formal training or work experience.
10-12+ years of relevant experience in Database Infrastructure.
Must have a Database certification (Either on MS SQL (or) SQL Server (or) Oracle)
