Database Engineer
Role Description:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions to support decision information systems, system integration, and applications. The person in this role will be assigned to a 90-day project. Upon successful delivery of that project, we would then assign the developer to a critical project which is expected to last up to 9-months. The person in this role must be able to work in the office during critical stages (2-3 days a week). Otherwise, there is flexibility to work remotely.
Skills & Experiences
• 5 years of experience in database development
• Experience developing solutions for analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau and Python based applications.
• Experience Transforming data and mapping tasks, ensuring data consistency and accuracy throughout the integration process.
• Experience with ETL processes, scripting tools, and data mapping solutions.
• Experience automating and administrating database scripts and jobs to run at scheduled times.
• Familiarity or experience with database performance monitoring tools.
• Project delivery experience and working with Agile teams.
• Capturing requirements, system design, development, testing, and deployment of database solutions such as an operational data store or data warehouse.
Technologies
• MS SQL Server; MySQL
• Familiarity with web development technologies such as (PHP, Python, and HTML5)
• Familiarity or experience working with MS Power Platform
• Familiarity or experience working with Power BI, or Tableau
• Familiarity or experience working with Microsoft 365
Dimensions:
• The person in this role will report into the IT Application Lead.
• Initial opportunity is a 90-day project with an opportunity to be assigned to a critical ~9-month project.
• Flexibility to work remotely. However, the person in this role must be able to meet stakeholders face-to-face at critical times of the project.
