Data scientist We are seeking a talented and meticulous Data Scientist to manage the data collection and analysis efforts for the Financial Health Innovation Lab. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and analyzing data-driven projects that support our mission to improve financial health. This individual will ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of behavioral scientists, researchers, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Management:

o Design and oversee systems for accurate and secure data collection, storage, and management, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.

o Develop and maintain databases for research and operational data.

  1. Data Collection:

o Collaborate with research team to design surveys, experiments, and other data-gathering methodologies.

o Ensure data collection tools are accurate, dependable, and culturally appropriate for target populations.

  1. Data Analysis:

o Use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets.

o Generate actionable insights and visualizations to inform decision-making and program design.

o Communicate findings through clear, compelling reports and presentations.

  1. Quality Assurance:

o Implement data quality checks and validation protocols to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data.

o Continuously monitor and refine data collection and analysis processes.

  1. Collaboration:

o Partner with behavioral scientists, program managers, and community organizations to align data initiatives with research and program goals.

o Train team members and stakeholders in data interpretation and application.

  1. Innovation:

o Explore and apply innovative tools and methodologies to improve data processes and outcomes.

o Stay current with advancements in data science, behavioral economics, and financial health research.

Qualifications:

o Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.

o 3+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related fields.

o Proven record of managing data collection and analysis for research or applied projects.

o Experience working with diverse populations or in community-based research settings is a plus.

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.

o Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

o Familiarity with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics) and data storage solutions (e.g., cloud databases).
