Data Scientist
Akkodis is seeking a Data Scientist for a Contract job with a client in SFO, CA(Remote). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.
Rate Range: $70/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist with a strong background in data engineering, full-stack data development, and competitive analysis to join our consumer-based organization. The ideal candidate will work with large data sets (up to a billion records), handling data aggregation, analysis, and visualization. This role requires strong SQL and Python skills, clear communication, and the ability to answer ambiguous business questions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop & Maintain Data Frameworks – Work on Earnings Data and Competitive Data, ensuring robust data models and pipelines for analytics and reporting.
• Data Processing & Collection – Gather and process data from multiple sources, including third-party and internal datasets.
• Business Insights & Reporting – Engage with stakeholders and senior leadership to provide insights on business performance.
• Collaboration & Independence – Work independently (30%) and collaboratively with team members (60%).
• Presentation & Communication – Be comfortable presenting findings and explaining data-driven insights.
Skills & Qualifications:
• 4+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, and full-stack data development.
• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Experience handling large-scale datasets and working on data pipelines, reporting, and project-based work.
• Data visualization experience (Tableau, Data Bricks, Superset; No Power BI or Looker).
• Ability to work with financial data and conduct competitive analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems and translate data into business insights.
