GENERAL SUMMARY

    Compass (within the Corporate Engineering) supports BNY?s critical business and risk management priorities by monitoring the design, implementation and operation of technology to address business needs. Compass Tools sits within Controls Engineering to automatically assess, monitor and report upon the operating effectiveness of key technology controls implemented to manage risk to BNY?s technology assets and services.

This is an individual contributor role, responsible for building a platform for automated Monitoring Routines. The individual will work in a cross-functional pod, closely with Control Analysts and Product management to design, develop and maintain critical technology and operational assets to support enterprise-wide automated Monitoring Routines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Engage with Analysts for understanding platform requirements.

     Develop software artifacts using Agile methodology and extend ownership by providing production support.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

     Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required

     5-7 years of experience as Data Engineer

Should be well versed/comfortable with the following technology stack, tools and processes:

Oracle SQL, PL-SQL, ETL Tools

     GIT

     Continuous integration

     Gitlab

Experience in database development such as Oracle? SQL, PL-SQL and hands-on knowledge on ETL tool like alteryx/ pentaho preferred.

Dataware house like Snowflake or similar knowledge would be added advantage.

     Perform data loading, cleansing, transformation using ETL tools.

     Creating program views, indexes, functions, stored procedures, packages, triggers, analytical functions and complex queries.

     Writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications.

     Designing database tables and dictionaries.

     Developing ddl, dml scripts, procedures and triggers for application development.

     Maintaining data quality checks and performance tuning

     Experience in batch set up, unix, scheduling tools

     Has knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.

     Teamwork, communication and organization skills and possess analytical thinking skills.

     Fair understanding of agile methodology, jira, confluence, git pipelines

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $34.67/hour - $54.18/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
