

Senior Data Architect
Salary: $60.00 to $65.00 hourly
Description
We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our dynamic team in the Southern California area. This role provides an opportunity for long term contract employment. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of duties, from translating business requirements into data models, managing stakeholders, ensuring data quality, to developing solutions for data consumers. The role also encompasses data security and compliance, database management and design, and enhancing data pipeline performance.
Responsibilities
• Translate high-level business requirements into data models, metadata test data, and data quality standards.
• Engage senior business stakeholders to ensure project alignment with strategic roadmaps.
• Oversee the quality assurance and peer review of project architectural artifacts.
• Define and manage standards, guidelines, and processes to ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with IT teams, business analysts, and data analytics teams to understand data consumer needs and develop solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage, and analytics.
• Understand data confidentiality, security, compliance needs, and apply data protection rules.
• Design data protection solutions at database, table, column level, and APIs based on enterprise standard data security, privacy architecture principles, and reference architectures.
• Design the structure and layout of data systems including databases, warehouses, and lakes.
• Select and implement database management systems that meet the organization's needs by defining data schemas, optimizing data storage, and establishing data access controls and security measures.
• Deliver business value by enhancing data pipeline performance, ensuring timely orchestration, and upholding data governance.
Requirements
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and analysis
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and make strategic decisions
• Commitment to quality and experience in quality assurance processes
• Ability to review and optimize data structures and database systems
• Experience in designing and implementing data architecture strategies
• Capability to deliver compelling presentations to stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in implementing security measures to protect data integrity
• Engineering background, preferably in computer sciences
• Willingness to travel for meetings with stakeholders and suppliers
• Proven track record in data optimization and performance improvements
• Expertise in data analysis and interpretation
• Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and data storage solutions
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
• Experience working with suppliers in the automotive industry
• Proficiency in Tableau for data visualization and reporting
• A degree in Computer Sciences or a related field
• Understanding of principles related to data architecture and management
