

Data Engineer
Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Maryland Heights, MO that is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their team in building a centralized data product store on AWS. This role will focus on consolidating data from multiple sources-on-premises, AWS-based, and third-party vendor feeds-into a clean, unified data environment. Responsibilities:
• Data Engineer will develop and maintain clean, reliable, and scalable datasets for analytical and operational use
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data sources, define integration strategies, and understand product requirements
• Design and build data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources into a centralized AWS-based platform
• As a Data Engineer, you will work with stakeholders to define the scope and architecture of the final data product
• Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and scheduling using tools like Airflow or similar orchestration frameworks
• Participate in defining best practices and standards for data engineering and architecture
Requirements
• Hands-on experience with PySpark for large-scale data processing
• Strong experience in Python, SQL, PySpark, and cloud-native tools
• Experience with Airflow or a similar job scheduling/orchestration tool
• Familiarity with Tableau or other data visualization tools for basic reporting or validation
• Strong working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, EMR)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple technical and business teams
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and automation
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Apache NiFi for data flow automation
• Ability to work with both cloud-based and on-premise data sources, as well as external vendor data feeds
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
