The Opportunity:
The UK’s #1 Digital Solutions Provider seeks an influential Data Engineer specialising in Tableau and AWS-based data engineering to support the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on a critical national security programme.
The Role:
Acting as the bridge between business needs and secure, effective data solutions, transforming complex requirements into actionable insights while ensuring compliance with MoD standards for security and integrity.
Automating and optimising data processes through ETL, collaborating with cross-functional teams to make data-driven decisions. As the go-to expert, tackling performance issues in Tableau and AWS to keep systems running smoothly, efficiently, and with purpose.
Key Requirements:
• Active SC Clearance held via the MoD.
• Proven experience in Tableau development, including dashboard creation, data blending, and performance tuning.
• Strong expertise in AWS data engineering (S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Athena).
• Advanced skills in SQL, ETL processes, and optimising data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and best practices for managing large datasets.
• Experience in Defence or secure government environments with strict compliance and security standards.
• Proficiency in Python or Spark for data processing and automation.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure.
• Understanding of MOD-specific security frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical teams.
