Overview

FedWriters is building a team to develop and maintain AI-enhanced search capabilities across the DoD's CDAO Search Portfolio, including GAMECHANGER, Contract Search, and the new YETI semantic search API. As Data Engineer, you will implement and maintain data pipelines supporting AI-enabled search capabilities.

• Work Schedule and Location:

This full-time hybrid position will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Must be within 50-mile radius of Washington DC metro area (Falls Church, Pentagon, Alexandria, Arlington).

Responsibilities
• Support data repository configuration and ingestion
• Maintain operational aspects of data transfers
• Monitor system health through tracking capabilities
• Automate configuration management
• Support ETL technologies and services
• Identify areas for automation and optimization
• Apply data engineering best practices
• Support cloud environment maintenance
• Engage with functional groups on technical solutions
• Maintain web scraping tools
• Implement efficient coding solutions

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree + 5-7 years experience OR Master's degree + 3 years experience
• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Experience with Big Data systems (Apache Spark/Databricks)
• Experience with ETL processes
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or MilCloud 2.0
• Experience with DoD STIGs and automation processes
• Experience with multiple coding languages
