Job: Data Architect/Principal Data Engineer IV
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Job Summary:
Data Architects are responsible for designing and maintaining an organization's database infrastructure, ensuring efficient data storage, accessibility, and security. They collaborate with database administrators and analysts to develop database solutions, assess requirements, and generate design reports.
Must-Have Skills:
• AFS or Loan Background is required.
• Business Intelligence & Data Engineering experience.
• Conceptual knowledge of:
• Big data technologies and distributions
• Metadata management tools
• Commercial ETL tools
• BI and visualization tools
• Messaging systems
• Data warehousing
• SQL
• Java (language & runtime environment)
• Version control systems
• Continuous integration/delivery tools
• Infrastructure automation & virtualization tools
• Data testing methodologies
• Major cloud platforms
• REST API design and development
• 4–5 years of experience with DBT and Snowflake.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with:
• DataStage
• Dataiku
• AFS System Application (AFS Level 3 or Vision).
Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and implement scalable and efficient database solutions to store and retrieve company data.
• Analyze and evaluate database structural requirements based on client operations, applications, and programming needs.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations by assessing database implementation procedures.
• Deploy and manage information systems to support business functionality and operations.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on database architecture and design for management and executive teams.
• Oversee data migration from legacy systems to modern solutions.
• Monitor and optimize system performance through regular testing, troubleshooting, and feature integration.
• Recommend enhancements to improve existing and new database systems.
• Train and support staff on database management and best practices.
• Provide timely support for system issues and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in gathering and analyzing system requirements.
• Experience with data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C, PHP, etc.
• Expertise in database technologies (SQL, Oracle, etc.).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey ideas to management, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Understanding of distributed computing principles.
• Familiarity with application and data security best practices.
